Contention 4 Uncertainties for mitigation Claim: There’s various uncertainties for mitigating the climate change. Warrant:  According to A. Reisinger et al, “We find that political choices that delay mitigation have the largest effect on the cost–risk distribution, followed by geophysical uncertainties, social factors influencing future energy demand and, lastly, technological uncertainties surrounding the availability of greenhouse gas mitigation options. This information is obtained from a large set of scenarios created with an integrated assessment model, for which the temperature increase is computed with a probabilistic climate model.” Impact: It is proven that there’s various uncertainties for mitigation. The effect of mitigation in the future can not be predicted and, if the mitigation of climate change has failed, it would have a huge cost on the entire human race. This is also a hidden cost of mitigating the climate change.
